Trap Karaoke Tampa Concert reviews
LCD Soundsystem
At their best, Trap Karaoke resembles Talking Heads' Remain in Light era. They are poly-rythmic and multi-membered like the Heads. Unfortunately, the quality of the songs does not match up to the Heads' prime. James Murphy, vocalist and writer for LCD, is undoubtedly the band's focal point. Mr. Murphy's affinity for club, rave, and house music blended with punk guitars initially caught my attention with LCD. While their music may be suitable for a dance club, it failed to impress me as a live performance. The stage show was just too repetitious, repetitious, repetitious, and lacking in melody. Most of the audience, as indicated by the sold-out crowd's response, would likely disagree with me. On stage, there were 7 individuals each contributing to the overall beat.
